Digital Friendly York has launched CoderDojo, a monthly coding club aimed at inspiring young minds aged 7-17 to explore digital making. Held at Our Lady's Catholic Church in Acomb, this initiative offers a creative and safe environment for children to learn coding, build websites, and design apps.
The CoderDojo sessions will commence on Saturday, July 27th from 10:00 to 11:30 AM, and will continue on the fourth Saturday of every month thereafter. Each session will feature hands-on activities facilitated by volunteers passionate about mentoring youth in technology.
CoderDojo provides young people with the opportunity to explore technology in a fun, creative, and social environment. The Dojo emphasises youth mentoring and peer-led learning, fostering an environment where young minds can innovate and grow.
Attendance is free, but advance booking is required. Limited laptops are available for borrowing, and children under 13 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. For more information and to secure a place, visit the Digital Friendly York Eventbrite page here or email [email protected].
