Project Lightning (Virgin Media)

Across the UK, Virgin Media are investing £3billion in expanding their ultrafast broadband network. This network is not the same as traditional copper wire services; it's a fibre optic ultrafast broadband network which offers speeds of up to 200Mbps for residents and 300Mbps for businesses.

Work to build the network in Copmanthorpe was completed in summer 2017, with Badger Hill, Heslington, Haxby and Wiggington set to benefit next.
